Designer
Are you an experienced and creative designer with the ability to convert fast-moving trends into sustainable fashion with the goal of developing SELECTED FEMME’s brand together with a dedicated Design team?
Then you may be just the one we are looking for to join SELECTED FEMME’s Design team, while our colleague is on maternity leave.
The position and work environment
You will take part in the entire design process from concept stage through to the finished product – always with our brand DNA in mind. We are young at team that is young at heart with dynamic and informal work environment. We collaborate closely and share a passion for the products we produce. We continuously strive to make the next collection more sustainable than the last, always seeking inspiration and innovative ways to make fashionable ‘value for money’ products with more sustainable fibers.
You will be working either with the Knit or the Denim category, collaborating with buyers and suppliers in developing and choosing new yarns and fabrics, consistently working on newness and improving our products.
Your responsibilities will among others include:
- Creation of new collections, trend presentations and design sketches
- Research and awareness of new trends and fabrics
- Travelling for inspiration and to visit suppliers
- Developing and drawing styles
- Commenting on samples in close dialogue with our buyers and pattern designers
- Cooperating with the Sales department on research, feedback and customer expectations.
Your profile
It is important for us that you are passionate about either denim or knit, and in addition, we value a strong sense of color composition and new trends. Taking initiative and working independently comes naturally to you, and you have an ambitious mindset and a creative and commercial sense. You have a confident can-do attitude, and you are a strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, that thrive in a busy and dynamic environment. You have a natural ability to spot trends and turn them into stylish, commercial designs. You pay attention to detail and manage to keep an overview in a creative and fast-moving process.
Qualifications
- Degree in design
- Experience with design work, ideally within womenswear knit or denim categories
- Strong drawing skills
- Flair for design, colours, details, patterns and texture is essential
- Superuser in Adobe and Illustrator
- Fluent in English, both in speech and writing
- Knowledge within pattern-making and MMC is appreciated
