Auditions and application period:

The auditions will be held at the Helsinki Music Centre on May 22 and 23, 2025 from 9.30 onwards.

The deadline for applications is 23.59 Finnish time on April 6, 2025.
Preliminary video selection:
Applicants will be selected for audition on the basis of their audition video and application documents.
The applicant must include the following in their application: A CV detailing previous work experience (specifying each orchestra, position, duration and type of employment), education, and other factors that may influence the selection and a link to a video in which the applicant performs the following excerpts:

Berlioz: Symphonie fantastique, 2nd Movement, bars 1-69 (1st harp)

Applications can be submitted in Finnish, Swedish, or English. Applications without the requested video link will not be considered.
Instructions for the video recording:

The video recording must be made with a single camera positioned in front of the player, ensuring that both the player and the instrument are visible at all times. Post-processing of the sound and/or image is prohibited, and the work should be recorded in a single take. The recording should aim for the highest possible sound and visual quality.

The recording must not be sent as an attachment. Instead, it should be uploaded to a web service (e.g., YouTube) where it can be viewed, and it must be accessible without a password. The link should be provided in the designated section of the application form.
Audition invitation and a list of orchestral and chamber music repertoire will be sent by email to selected candidates after the closing date for applications.
In the audition, the orchestra’s instrument (Lyon & Healy, model Salzedo) can be used, but the applicants can also bring their own instruments. Those who play the audition on the FRSO's harp will have the opportunity to try the instrument on May 21, 2025. Further information will be provided to the invited applicants later.
The job-specific monthly salary for the position is €4.456,06 (with 5-year professional orchestra experience supplement €4.662,29). There is also dress and instrument allowance.
