Product Designer,

If so, keep reading - our Soft Cells Global Design department in Copenhagen is expanding, thus we seek a Product Designer who can push the boundaries in creating beautiful lasting acoustic solutions through from concept to final design.
About the Job
Any acoustic challenge, any design scheme, wall or ceiling solutions, a wish for custom shapes/performance, our Global Design Team is there to assist in designing the most optimal acoustic solution to support our client’s needs and design vision. Essentially, if an acoustic solution is not available from our core range, Global Projects will design one.
The purpose of this position will be to support and strengthen the Kvadrat Soft Cells Global Projects Design Team, with particular focus in designing bespoke solutions to fulfil specific global project requirements of various complexities. You will identify, highlight, and communicate successful bespoke design solutions that may be suitable for development within the Soft Cells Core Design Team and effectively communicate project design requirements for both production and stakeholder approval.
You can expect up to 30 days of travelling per year in this position.
Some of your key responsibilities will be to:
- Develop detailed and coordinated design solutions through various project stages, form concept through to production for Soft Cell Global Projects. A solution may extend across a broad spectrum, from a simple component to a complete panel system including substructure.
- Manage detailed design requirements to align with the project time schedule and provide inputs as necessary to support overall resourcing plans.
- Develop, order, and assemble mock-ups to test theoretical design solutions in practice.
- Provide support from a design perspective to secure future projects.
- Prepare detailed project design documentation to effectivity communicate design requirements to the relevant stakeholders, as applicable to the project stage. Examples of such could be, but not limited to: drawings; bills of materials; install methodologies & 3D models etc.
- Participate in project peer reviews including mock-up reviews.
- Liaison with the Soft Cells Core Design Team regarding suitable solutions for future development.
Qualifications and Competencies
The ideal candidate has an education and a minimum of 2 years’ experience within industrial/product design, architecture, or engineering preferably with international projects.
The ideal candidate also holds skills and knowledge within:
- Conceptual design development
- Drawing drafting/modelling
- Architecture/construction
- Ability to communicate ideas via simple hand sketching.
- Experience of certification processes in terms of sustainability and fire approvals, as an example.
Furthermore, we expect you to have experience in some of the following programs:
- General Drafting: AutoCAD/Revit
- 3D Modelling: SolidWorks/Inventor/Rhino
- Presentation: InDesign
