Store Design Manager

At Specsavers Northern European Support Office in Copenhagen, we’re looking for a Store Design Manager to manage the store design process for all five countries in our Northern European region: Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and the Netherlands.

As Store Design Manager, you’ll manage all aspects of store design and layout production. This includes everything from shopfront through to retail, dispensing and clinical areas in our stores. You’ll be responsible for managing the design process for a portfolio of +450 stores, all located in different countries with local legislations, clinical standards, regulations and requirements within Specsavers global shop fit.

 

Your specific tasks will be to:

 

  • Manage the creative process from design brief, mood board and sketches to actual drawing of the stores prepared for Business Development teams in their conversations with store partners, property, landlords, municipalities, suppliers etc. including 3D renders, layouts and shopfronts
  • Carry any initial ideas through to completion for potential rebrands, relocations, maximisations and new stores in our five countries
  • Check all store drawings are complete, technically accurate and put in motion in time to facilitate and support the development of the store
  • Present inspiring alternatives to shopfronts and store design solutions in situations where the store location or physical environment requires a non-standard approach
  • Design and project manage design- and development-related projects such as launches, rollouts of new unitary concepts, tactical shop fits and updates to the global shop fit
  • Own the Northern European Technical Design Standards Manual and the Design Manual to ensure shop fitting and contractor tendering tools
  • Manage the Store Design team of two store designers (possibly from a distance)
  • Make sure that Specsavers design principles, customer journey, technical standards and brand guidelines are applied consistently across the estate
  • Work closely with the Store Operations team to ensure consistently executed great-looking stores across our entire Northern Europe region.

 

Who you are

 

For the Store Design Manager role, we’re looking for someone with first-hand store layouts and design experience. It’s also essential to have worked in a managing role before with the responsibility of managing and developing people.

 

To be considered for the role, you must also have:

 

  • A creative flair, imagination, and innovative thinking
  • Commercial understanding and business acumen
  • Previous management experience with full responsibility for you and your team’s workload
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across all levels and functions
  • Ability to work independently with creativity
  • Flexible with working hours as well as travelling between support offices and visit stores in our five Northern European countries
  • Excellent communication skills in written and oral English – as well as one of our Northern European languages
  • Technical skills: Autodesk incl. Revit and AutoCAD and possibly any 3D render programme.
