We are seeking a talented and dedicated pianist to accompany ballet classes at our dance studio in Copenhagen. We support a creative broad approach to accompanying ballet classes for an inspiring dance environment. This is a wonderful opportunity to be part of a vibrant artistic studio, supporting dancers with live music that enhances their training and artistic expression.
Location: Copenhagen, Denmark
Position: Ballet Accompanist (Pianist)
Hours: Full time (26 hours per week)
Start Date: September 1, 2025 or earlier if possible.

About Us:
Dance Maze is a drop-in dance studio located in the Østerbro neighborhood of Copenhagen. Opened in 2023 by Ulrik Birkkjær and Thomas Mieth, both previously of the Royal Danish Theatre. Ballet classes are taught by the most talented teachers in Denmark.
The studio has achieved immense success offering ballet classes to all levels and all types of dancers, as well as different styles of contemporary and Gaga.
In the fall of 2025 we are moving and expanding to 6 studios where we will need a full time pianist to spread joy. Check out our website www.dancemaze.dk
Responsibilities:
- Provide live piano accompaniment for ballet classes, adapting to the needs of various instructors.
- Collaborate closely with different ballet teachers to create a supportive and inspiring class atmosphere.
- Improvise or select appropriate repertoire, ensuring dynamic and expressive musicality.
- Maintain punctuality and professionalism in all scheduled classes.
Requirements:
- Strong piano proficiency with experience accompanying ballet or dance classes.
- Ability to improvise and adapt music to different exercises and tempos.
- Familiarity with classical ballet music and terminology.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Previous experience in a dance or performing arts setting is a plus.
- Proficient English language skills.
