Herning Kirke har over de seneste årtier udviklet et rigt, bredspektret og ambitiøst musikliv. Herning Kirkes Drengekor står centralt i denne udvikling og vi søger nu en, der som kantor og dirigent kan sikre den fortsatte udvikling af koret.

Herning Kirkes Drengekor er stiftet i 1949 og er således et af landets ældste af sin art. Korets hovedopgave er at synge ved gudstjenesterne i Herning Kirke. Desuden giver koret koncerter og indgår i mange og forskelligartede sammenhænge både i Danmark og i udlandet. Koret har i de senere år sunget i blandt andet Notre Dame i Paris, Sydney Operahus, Carnegie Hall i New York, Hallgrimskirken i Reykjavik og Nidarosdomen i Trondhjem. Dertil kommer korets samarbejde med en lang række prominente partnere. I det seneste år kan vi bl.a. nævne Copenhagen Phil, Underholdningsorkestret, Kings Singers, DR, Ensemble MidtVest og mange flere.

Koret består af ca. 50 drenge og mænd fra 9 år og op. Siden 2020 har også seks professionelle sangere været ansat til at synge i koret. De medvirker ved korets prøver og deltager i koncerter og turnéer. Koret synger ca. 30 koncerter årligt og medvirker desuden ved forskellige produktioner, begivenheder og events.

Herning Kirke samarbejder tæt med Den Jyske Sangskole om sangernes musikalske skoling og den løbende talentudviklingsindsats. Herudover varetager Sangskolen også store dele af korets administration og bistår dirigenten med både musikalsk- og strategisk udvikling, fundraising og kommunikation.

• en samarbejdsorienteret holdspiller, som kan indgå aktivt i både det musikalske, administrative og pædagogiske udviklingsarbejde sammen med kollegerne i kirken og på Den Jyske Sangskole

Dine opgaver

• Ledelse af Herning Kirkes Drengekor, herunder
  • sikring af korets fortsatte kunstneriske, sociale og læringsmæssige udvikling med opmærksomhed på den enkelte sangers trivsel og udvikling
  • musikalsk tilrettelæggelse og ledelse af korets deltagelse i gudstjenester (i samvirke med kirkens organister og præster), koncerter, turnéer m.m.
  • langsigtet planlægning strategisk udvikling af korets repertoire og aktiviteter (i samarbejde med kor- og musikudvalget under menighedsrådet)
  • tilrettelæggelse og gennemførelse af prøveforløb
  • forhandling med koncertarrangører, musikere, solister og gæstedirigenter (assisteret af korets producent)
  • at sikre og videreudvikle det lokale, regionale, nationale og internationale netværk af samarbejdspartnere
• Samarbejde med Den Jyske Sangskole, herunder
  • tæt samarbejde med korproducent og administrativt personale fra Den Jyske Sangskole om praktik og administration af koret og sangerne
  • sparring og samarbejde om den pædagogiske indsats, undervisning og metode
  • samarbejde med stemmepædagog og koropvarmer fra Den Jyske Sangskole i forbindelse med både tutti-korprøver og korets forskole
  • ledelse af projektet omkring de professionelle sangere
  • fastholdelse og udvikling af korets synlighed lokalt, regionalt, national og internationalt med hjælp fra Den Jyske Sangskoles kommunikationsmedarbejder
  • løbende fundraising og udvikling af netværket af sponsorer og fonde i samarbejde med Den Jyske Sangskole
• Lejlighedsvist at spille til gudstjenester og kirkelige handlinger

Vi forventer, at du

• har en videregående musikuddannelse på konservatorie- eller universitetsniveau
• har professionel erfaring med korledelse på et højt kunstnerisk niveau. Vi ser gerne, at du har erfaring fra eller en relation til andre inspirerende kormiljøer internationalt
• har flair for den pædagogiske og sociale dimension i arbejdet med drengene
• har et bredt kendskab til repertoire for drenge- og mandskor
• har kendskab til folkekirkens liturgi og musikalske tradition
• er sprogligt i stand til at instruere også børn, der udelukkende taler dansk
• har talent og interesse for fundraising, ledelse, koordinering og udviklingsarbejde
• opfatter skiftende arbejdstider som en naturlig del af arbejdet
• er dygtig til at indgå i komplekse relationer med mange forskellige samarbejdspartnere og interessenter
• kan spille klaver og orgel

Vi tilbyder

Som kantor i Herning Kirke bliver du en del af en fleksibel arbejdsplads, et velfungerende team og et sogn i vækst. Herning Kirke er centrum for et engageret og bredspektret menigheds-, gudstjeneste og koncertliv. Den musikalske profil i sognet tager afsæt i den klassisk liturgiske tradition med en åbenhed for og erfaringer med nye salmer og rytmiske elementer i kirkemusikken. Der er et velfungerende Kor- og musikudvalg under menighedsrådet, der varetager ledelsen af Herning Kirkes Drengekor i samvirke med dirigenten.

Du bliver en del af et kollegialt fællesskab med godt arbejdsmiljø. Kirken har to fuldtidsansatte præster samt en deltidsansat, to kirke- og kulturmedarbejdere og to kirketjenere. Kirkemusikken varetages af 3 kirkemusikere. Udover kantoren er der to DOKS-organister – en første- og andenorganist. Desuden er der to kordegne, som er fælles med byens øvrige sogne.

Du vil desuden blive en del af det stærkt faglige, internationale og ambitiøse miljø i og omkring Den Jyske Sangskole. Der er ca. 40 medarbejdere tilknyttet skolen, som til dagligt underviser 200 unge sangere (heriblandt sangerne fra Herning Kirkes Drengekor) og driver en bred vifte af både events, udviklingsprojekter og samfundsrettede initiativer.

Ansættelse af en kirkemusiker vil være omfattet af Fællesoverenskomsten mellem Finansministeriet og CO10 og organisationsaftale mellem Kirkeministeriet og CO10 – Centralorganisationen af 2010 for kirkefunktionærer med kerneopgaver som henholdsvis kordegn, sognemedhjælper/kirke- og kulturmedarbejder eller kirkemusiker og det tilhørende protokollat for kirkemusikere.

Ansættelse af en uddannet organist vil være omfattet af Overenskomst mellem Kirkeministeriet, CO10 – Centralorganisationen af 2010 og Dansk Organist og Kantor Samfund (DOKS) for organister.

Nuværende tjenestemandsansatte organister har ret til at bevare deres tjenestemandsstatus ved ansættelse med direkte overgang. Der skal i så fald ske en klassificering af stillingen.

Årslønnen for en kirkemusiker aftales indenfor intervallet 295.280 kr. – 431.563 kr. Fikspunktet er 302.851 kr. Der er rådighedsforpligtelse til stillingen. Rådighedstillægget udgør årligt 22.760,18 kr. Aftale om indplacering i lønintervallet indgås mellem menighedsrådet og Dansk Kirkemusiker Forening inden ansættelsen.

Årslønnen for ansøgere med en kirkemusikalsk kandidateksamen (DOKS) aftales i henhold til ny løn/AC-skalaen. Det vil sige en bruttoløn mellem 329.549 kr. – 401.562 kr. årligt. Der ydes rådighedstillæg i stillingen. Rådighedstillægget udgør årligt mellem 42.400,94 kr. – 65.854,32 kr. Indplacering og rådighedstillæg ydes efter anciennitet.

Årslønnen for ansøgere med eksamen i orgel- og korledelse (tidligere PO-organist) aftales i henhold til det aftalte basisløntrinssystem. Basistrin 1 udgør kr. 317.994 årligt og basisløntrin 2 udgør kr. 334.104 årligt. Indplacering sker efter anciennitet. Rådighedstillægget udgør årligt 24.724,25 kr. for tjeneste ved 1 kirke.

Alle løndele er anført i nutidskroner for fuldtidsstilling.

Såfremt ansættelse sker som kantor efter DOKS-overenskomsten, vil ansættelse for organistdelen ske særskilt på individuelle vilkår. Den vil andrage gennemsnitligt 1 time ugentligt. Det kan ikke forventes at ligge fast ugentligt. Kantorstillingen vil derfor i det tilfælde andrage 36 timer.

Director of Music / conductor for Herning Church’s Boys’ Choir

Do you want to lead one of Denmark's most prominent boys' choirs? Are you an ambitious and talented conductor who is passionate about unfolding the potential of church music through services and concerts? Would you like to be part of a committed staff at the church including a skilled and well-functioning music team? Would you like to work closely with an internationally recognized talent environment and participate in the development of the musical training of young talented singers? Then maybe we're looking for you!

Over the past decades, Herning Church has developed a rich, wide-ranging, and ambitious musical life. Herning Kirkes Drengekor (Herning Church’s Boys’ Choir) is central to this development, and we are now looking for a conductor who can ensure the continued development of the choir.

Herning Kirkes Drengekor was founded in 1949 and is one of the oldest choirs of its kind in Denmark. The choir's main task is to sing at church services in Herning Church. In addition, the choir gives concerts and participates in many varied contexts both in Denmark and abroad. In recent years, the choir has sung in Notre Dame in Paris, Sydney Opera House, Carnegie Hall in New York, Hallgrimskirkja in Reykjavik, and the Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim. In addition, the choir collaborates with a wide range of prominent partners. In the past year alone, the choir has collaborated with Copenhagen Phil, the Danish Chamber Orchestra, The Kings Singers, DR (Danish Broadcasting Corporation), Ensemble MidtVest and many more.

The choir consists of approx. 50 boys and men from 9 years and up. Since 2020, six professional ATB singers have also been employed to sing in the choir. They participate in the choir's rehearsals and take part in concerts and tours. The choir sings approx. 30 concerts annually as well as they participate in various productions and events.

Herning Church collaborates closely with Den Jyske Sangskole (The Jutland School of Singing) on the singers' musical training and ongoing talent development. In addition, the Singing School also handles large parts of the choir's administration and assists the conductor with both musical and strategic development, fundraising and communication.

We are looking for:

• an ambitious and committed Director of Music / conductor for Herning Church's Boys' Choir.
• a unifying figure who can take on the artistic, pedagogical, and social responsibility for the continued development of the choir.
• A skilled musician with experience and talent for choral conducting, with a strong sense of the role that music plays in worship and the role of the church in society.
• A collaborative team player who can actively participate in the musical, administrative and pedagogical development work together with colleagues at church and at Den Jyske Sangskole

Your tasks:

• Management of Herning Kirke's Boys' Choir, including:
  • ensuring the choir's continued artistic, social, and educational development with attention to the individual singer's well-being and development
  • musical organization and management of the choir's participation in church services (in collaboration with the church's organists and pastors), concerts, tours, etc.
  • long-term strategic planning and development of the choir's repertoire and activities (in collaboration with the choir and music committee, under the church council)
  • organize and conducting rehearsals
  • negotiating with concert organizers, musicians, soloists and guest conductors (assisted by the choir's producer)
  • securing and further developing the local, regional, national and international network of partners
• Collaboration with Den Jyske Sangskole, including:
  • close collaboration with the choir producer and administrative staff from Den Jyske Sangskole on the practical and administrative running of the choir and singers
  • Sparring and collaboration on educational development, teaching, and methodology
  • collaboration with the voice teacher(s) from Den Jyske Sangskole in connection with both tutti choir rehearsals and the choir's pre-school
  • management of the professional singer’s project
  • maintaining and developing the choir's visibility locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally with the help of Den Jyske Sangskole's communications officer
  • ongoing fundraising and development of the network of sponsors and foundations in collaboration with Den Jyske Sangskole
• Occasional playing at church services

We expect you to:

• have a higher music education at conservatory or university level
• have professional experience with choral conducting at a high artistic level. We would like you to have experience from or a relation to other inspiring choral environments internationally
• have a flair for the pedagogical and social dimension of working with boys
• have a broad knowledge of repertoire for boys' and men's choirs
• have knowledge of the liturgy and musical tradition of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Denmark
• are linguistically capable of instructing children who only speak Danish
• have talent and interest in fundraising, management, coordination and development work
• have changing working hours as a natural part of the work
• are skilled at entering into complex relationships with many different partners and stakeholders
• can play the piano and organ

What we offer:

As a cantor at Herning Church, you will be part of a flexible workplace, a well-functioning team, and a growing parish. Herning Church is the center of a committed and wide-ranging congregational, worship and concert life. The musical profile of the parish is based on the classical liturgical tradition with an openness to and experience with new hymns and rhythmic elements in church music. There is a well-functioning Choir and Music Committee under the parish council, which manages Herning Kirke's Drengekor in collaboration with the conductor.

You will be part of a collegial community with a good working environment. The church has two full-time pastors and one part-time employee, two church and cultural employees and two church wardens. Church music is handled by 3 church musicians. In addition to the conductor, there are two DOKS organists - a first and second organist. There are also two church administrators, who are shared with the city's other parishes.

You will also be part of the highly professional, international, and ambitious environment in and around Den Jyske Sangskole. There are approx. 40 employees at the school, who are responsible for the daily teaching of approx. 200 talented young students (including the singers from Herning Kirke's Boys' Choir) and who run a wide range of events, development projects and community-oriented initiatives.

The position is for 37 hours and to be filled by 1st November 2023 at the latest. Employment is under Herning Sogns Menighedsråd located Østre Kirkevej 1, 7400 Herning. The parish council can inform you that there is a three-month probationary period and that references, including a child protection certificate, will be obtained in connection with the employment.
