An audition for two positions will be held on Monday the 14th of November 2022.

The vacancies are to be filled as per 1st of January 2023 or according to agreement.

The audition repertoire:

  • Own Choice: 1. movement (with cadenza) from Carl Stamitz’ Viola-Concerto i D-major or F.A. Hoffmeister: Viola-Concerto in D-major
  • Own Choice: 1. movement from Bela Bartok: Viola-Concerto , Willian Walton: ViolaConcerto or Paul Hindemith: Viola-Concerto “Der Schwanendreher”
  • Orchestral excerpts and possibly. chambermusic.

 

The order of the pieces and number of rounds will be advertised later.

All orchestral excerpts can be downloaded approx. 2 weeks before the audition at: https://kglteater.dk/en/kgl/orchestra-auditions.

  • All applicants will have to attach a video with excerpts from either Stamitz until bar 137, or Hoffmeister until bar 90. With or without piano accompaniment.
  • It must be played from the beginning to the recapitulation, without piano accompaniment.
  • The video must be unedited, and the entire face and body must be visible.
  • The application and video must be submitted to The Royal Theater no later than the 21th of October 2022.
  • Based on these videos, several applicants will be invited to the audition on 14th of November 2022.
  • Applicants will be notified by email sent the 25th of October 2022 if they are invited.

Recruitment will take place under the Joint Agreement for the Royal Theatre on-extensive artistic staff and the Protocol to the mutual agreement of Kapelmusikere between the Royal Theatre and CO 10 and local agreements between the Royal Theatre and the Danish Musician’s Union.

The Royal Theatre reserves the right to hold the audition for only a limited number of invited applicants.

The first year of employment is on a trial basis and may be cancelled subject to one month's mutual notice.

For applicants outside the EU countries, it is a precondition that at the time of employment the applicant has arranged for work- and residence permit in Denmark.
