Principal Trumpet

The audition takes place: June 12th 2026

Required material for audition:

Pre-recording video*
*After applications are closed, applicants will be informed as to whether they are invited directly to the 1st round, or are requested to submit a pre-recorded video. Deadline for the video will be the 10th of May 2026.

Orchestral excerpts will be sent electronically to the applicants 3 weeks prior to the audition.

The audition will take place at the Symphonic Hall at Musikhuset Aarhus (Concert Hall Aarhus), Skovgaardsgade 2c, 8000 Aarhus C, Denmark. The Aarhus Symphony Orchestra will provide a pianist on the day of the audition, but travelling expenses and expenses for accommodation must be met by the applicant.

NB: Candidates are asked to keep themselves informed as to the current rules and regulations concerning work permit in Denmark.

Closing date for applications: April 19th 2026.
Invitations to pre-record video or to round 1 will be sent on April 24th 2026.

    Joseph Haydn: Trumpet Concerto, Hob. VIIe,1: 1st mvmt. bars 37-117 (must be played on an American model Bb trumpet)

Round 2:
