Tutti horn - Oslo Philharmonic

The Oslo Philharmonic and chief conductor Klaus Mäkelä invite qualified candidates to apply for the position of tutti horn.

This position primarily plays low horn, but includes an obligation to play all horn parts except solo horn. We are searching for a flexible musician, with expert proficiency in both low and high registers.

Interested candidates are invited to apply via muvac by Sunday 27th October 2024 with a CV and covering letter giving details of your motivation and experience. Decisions regarding invitations to pre-audition or direct invitations to the main audition will not be made before this date.

All candidates invited to audition will be informed on Monday 11th November.

A pre-audition will be held in Oslo on Thursday 12th December. The main audition will be held in Oslo on Friday 13th December.

 

Repertoire

  • Invited candidates will be required to prepare the following repertoire:
  • W.A. Mozart: Concerto for horn and orchestra No.3 K.447 (1st and 2nd movements)
  • R. Strauss: Concerto for horn and orchestra No.1 Op.11 (1st movement)
  • Orchestral excerpts (see list)

A pdf copy of the required orchestral excerpts will be sent to invited candidates.
